Mesothelioma - what it is?
The mesothelioma is a cancer of mesothelium, the membrane which surrounds the lungs, the abdomen, and the heart.
The mesothelioma is composed mainly of three types.
-- Pleural mesothelioma (cancer of mesothelium surrounding the lungs)
-- Mesothelioma pritonal (cancer of mesothelium surrounding the stomach)
-- Pericardial mesothelioma (cancer of mesothelium surrounding the heart)
That roughly takes 30 to 40 years so that the mesothelioma develops and for watch its effects. It is the primary reason for which the mesothelioma is seen most of the time in older patients, most of the time male.
The mesothelioma is most aggressive, painful, and mortal of all cancers.
Cause mesothelioma
The main cause of the mesothelioma is asbestos exposure. There are extremely rare examples when it is noted it that the asbestos exposure is not the culprit, but even in these particularly rare examples that it is possible that the person was exposed to asbestos (indirectly) without the knowledge even.
Though the mesothelioma is a very rare type of cancer, it is not also rare in those which were exposed to asbestos.
The asbestos exposure could occur directly or indirectly.
The direct asbestos exposure occurs when the person comes directly into contact with asbestos fibres. Such people could include minors of asbestos, workers of construction, renovators of construction, manufacturers of boat, breakers of boat, the workmen/mechanical of coating of clutch/brake.
The indirect asbestos exposure occurs when the person comes into indirect contact with asbestos/they could come into contact with any person who had the direct asbestos exposure. Such people could include the family and the friends of those which were directly exposed. The directly exposed people have asbestos fibres incorporated in their hair and clothing, passing asbestos fibres to all those which come into contact with them.
A person does not need to be exposed with asbestos above long periods; even the short-term exposure could lead to the mesothelioma.
What is asbestos
Asbestos is a class of the ores appearing naturally in fibrous form. They are divided into two principal groups - serpentine and amphibole. The chrysotile concerns the serpentine group, whereas the actinolite, the anthophylite, the amosite, crocidolite and tremolite concern the group of amphibole. Asbestos was employed commercially since the 1800s, but its rigorously increased use since the Forties Juste by the Eighties.
Asbestos found the use wide out of construction material, material of insulation, and much of other employs because of its excellent properties of tensile strength, flexibility, and chaleur/de corrosion/de chemical resistance.
What is asbestos exposure
The asbestos exposure occurs when a person is subjected to the inhalation/ ingestion of invisible microscopic asbestos fibres during time. Once inhaled, the asbestos fibres arrange and obtain firmly placed in the lungs.
The mesothelioma is the effect on health most common caused by asbestos inhalation, but of other effects on health could include the cancer of lung and the asbestose. The mesothelioma is very different from these two, and should not be confused with the cancer of lung or the asbestose.
What is pleural mesothelioma
The pleural mesothelioma is cancer affecting the lining which surrounds the lungs (plvre). It is the most common type of mesothelioma with more than 80% of those diagnosed with the suffering mesothelioma of him.
The signs and the symptoms of the pleural mesothelioma could include one or more following.
-- Pain of trunk (soft with low register)
-- Brevity of breath
-- Conservation of excessive fluid around the lungs
-- Constant cough (soft with low register)
-- Constant Wheezing while breathing
-- Traces of blood in spittle
What is mesothelioma pritonal
The mesothelioma pritonal is cancer affecting the lining which surrounds the stomach. It is a type of mesothelioma which is not very common with Juste 10 to 20% of those diagnosed with the suffering mesothelioma of him.
The signs and the symptoms of the mesothelioma pritonal could include one or more following.
-- Constant pain in the abdomen (soft with low register)
-- Conservation of excessive fluid around the stomach
-- Pieces of fabric in the abdomen
-- Diarrhoea or constant constipation
-- Sudden not explained weight loss
-- Nausea
What is pericardial mesothelioma
The pericardial mesothelioma is cancer affecting the lining which surrounds the heart. It is the rarest type of mesothelioma with extremely few of those diagnosed with the suffering mesothelioma of him.
The signs and the symptoms of the pericardial mesothelioma could include one or more following.
-- Pain of trunk (soft with low register)
-- Brevity of breath
-- Palpitations of heart
-- Constant cough (soft with low register)
Diagnosis of mesothelioma
The diagnosis of the mesothelioma is not easy since the symptoms recover with many of other common evils such as pneumonia, the head cold, and seasonal allergies.
After revision of the patients achieve the medical antecedents, the doctor/surgeon will ask other tests to be led if it suspect the mesothelioma.
The best manner of determining the mesothelioma is by the tests of formation image which could include one or more following.
-- X-rays
-- Sweeping of CAT/CT
-- Sweeping of MRI
-- Sweeping of FAMILIAR ANIMAL
The execution of a biopsy is another manner of confirming the mesothelioma. Those could include Thoracoscopy or Peritoneoscopy.
Treatment of the mesothelioma
The treatment will depend entirely on the results of the tests carried out. The doctor/surgeon will take into account with which stage cancer was diagnosed, and the patients age/health.
The type of the most common treatment for the mesothelioma is surgery, followed radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. A combination of these treatments could be employed according to the situation.
A total treatment for the mesothelioma is not possible, with all the treatments employed to increase the life expectancy of the patient.
Is the mortal mesothelioma
Yes. The mesothelioma is mortal, always. It takes between 30 to 40 years after initial exposure for the mesothelioma to surface. Because of the nature of the disease, mesothelioma is almost always diagnosed when it deviated at the incurable levels. At this stage, the patient will survive for of the Juste 12 to 18 months more still with the treatment.
Improve the treatments/treatment for the mesothelioma
There are currently much research/hearth on new manners and techniques to treat the mesothelioma. Many treatments currently undergo clinical tests with promising results. If you suspectez the asbestos exposure in the past, consult your doctor/surgeon. If diagnosed with the mesothelioma, the surgeon will guide you on the last techniques which undergo the test. You could offer to take part in these tests. All these modern treatments use last technologies and equipment available, but will not guarantee nevertheless the total treatment. Yes, which it could possible makes only takes place the increase the rate of survival from 12 to 18 months after diagnosis with good better 5 to 10 years. During this time (5 to 10 years as of now) of better options could be available, different prolonging your life, probably treating even the mesothelioma completely.
